Airwaves on the central Island will be all abuzz Sept. 8 as the Nanaimo Amateur Radio Association hosts Ham Happenings.
The day, billed as one of the biggest Ham radio events on the Island, takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cedar Community Hall, 2388 Cedar Rd.
There will be a swap meet for people looking for radios, a station set up so anyone can try transmitting on the radio, a ‘foxhunt’ to find a hidden transmitter using radios, demonstrations as well as information on the club and the hobby.
