The Molson Coors Community Cheer program wants to help fund projects that bring communities together in active and positive ways.

From a new roof for the local rink to new programs to get people up and moving, the program supplies up to $1 million to support projects and initiatives across Canada.

Canadians can apply for a Community Cheer donation for their projects at www.ourcommunitycheer.com.

The program deadline is Jan. 5. Canadians can vote online from Jan. 6 to Feb. 1 for the project they would like to see receive funding.

Initiatives that receive 225 votes will be eligible. Twenty projects will receive funding in 2012.

The winners will be announced March. 1
