The Nanaimo Aquatic Centre is closing for annual maintenance starting Sept. 7.
The centre will re-open Sept. 28 after pump and plumbing maintenance, upgrades to leisure pool lighting with high efficiency LED, addition of the slide and crawl net on the boat play feature and painting of the building’s exterior.
Crews will also add a new air handling unit for the leisure pool and rebuild the dehumidification compressors for the large pool.
The aquatic centre weight room will re-open with limited daily hours Sept. 14-27 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Beban Park pool and weight room re-opens after its annual maintenance Tuesday (Sept. 8). Drop-in rate is $3.
