Plant sale assists African grnadmothers

Spring is in the air and the NanGo Grannies are hoping the public is in the mood to plant and help a good cause.

The group is hosting a spring plant sale Saturday, (April 30) at Nanaimo North Town Centre from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the east-side main entrance near the liquor store.

Baskets of planted succulents, flowers and vegetables will be for sale just in time for Mother’s Day (May 8).

All proceeds go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation which supports projects in sub-Saharan Africa assisting grandmothers who care for orphaned grandchildren suffering from the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
