Nanaimo SPCA is hoping that the force is strong in this feline.

Yoda, a one-year-old male tabby, suffered a fractured pelvis and femur after being hit by a car and is unable to stand or walk. The SPCA, which is caring for the animal, is asking for help for Yoda's medication, vaccines and daily care until he's ready for adoption.

“We just want Yoda to have the chance to live a mobile, pain-free life and we’re hoping animal lovers out there will help make that happen,” said Leon Davis, branch manager for Nanaimo SPCA, in a press release. "His prognosis is excellent, but he needs a pin for his leg and a plate for his pelvis.”

The estimated cost of his care is $3,500. To donate, or for more information, please visit http:// spca.bc.ca/medicalemergency or the shelter at 2200 Labieux Rd.
