Even COVID-19 can’t curb Nanaimo’s annual drive-thru donation drive.
The annual Give and Go charity event happens at Steve Marshall Ford Lincoln on Friday, Dec. 11.
The event runs 5-7 p.m. when people can pull up, drop off donations and then be on their way while maintaining social distancing and doing a good deed for those in need.
The Give and Go drive gathers food, clothing and other basics that families and individuals who are less fortunate in the community need for the holiday season and the cold winter months. All donations support the Salvation Army and Loaves and Fishes Community Food Bank.
People and companies participating in this year’s drive are encouraged to load their vehicles with non-perishable food and donations of warm clothes, including coats, mittens and winter socks for children and adults. Cash donations will be warmly received as well.
“After this long year of having to care for and support one another, we are so grateful that the Give and Go is able to happen and we can support and take care of those in need in our wonderful community of Nanaimo,” said Ann Marie Clark, Steve Marshall Ford Lincoln dealership principal.
Steve Marshall Ford Lincoln is located at 3851 Shenton Rd. where volunteers will be waiting to help unload donations.
