A free outdoor movies series is about to kick off compliments of Coastal Community Credit Union.
Sunset Cinema gives Island families the chance to enjoy a warm summer evening by watching a movie outdoors.
Feature films will be shown on a three-storey inflatable screen from Fresh Air Cinema. The series visits six Island communities and includes Nanaimo showings at Beban Park Thursday (July 7) and July 28.
Admission is free, though donations will be accepted to the Success by Six childhood initiative. All proceeds from the event’s popcorn, cotton candy and glow bracelet sales goes to Success by Six.
“As part of our commitment to building healthier communities, we’re happy to support this initiative,” said Allyson Prescesky, manager of community experience and communications at CCCU.
Residents are invited to grab a blanket or lawn chair and head down at dusk to enjoy the films.
