The Nanaimo Men’s Centre wants to spruce up their facility a little bit and is hoping some handymen can volunteer to help.

The men’s centre, according to a press release from Volunteer Nanaimo, is asking for volunteers to work on various short-term renovation projects at the Old City Quarter office.

“We are giving our centre a much-needed spruce-up and are in need of a few ‘handy’ people to assist us,” the release notes.

All materials will be supplied and work will be done mostly during evenings and on weekends. The centre hopes to install a suspended ceiling in an office, install shelving and baseboards and replace window trim and renovate the kitchen area, which would include installing new cabinets and countertop and some plumbing work. The centre also needs some help with “minor electrical work” such as tidying up cables.

For more information, contact the men’s centre at 250-716-1551 or e-mail info@themenscentre.ca.
