Keeping the Pagan pride alive

Event celebrates a decade of Pagan spirit on Vancouver Island.

Pagans from across the Island and Lower Mainland will gather in Nanaimo to celebrate a decade of Island Pagan Pride. On Aug. 23, hundreds of Pagans will gather at Departure Bay Beach to celebrate the 10th annual Vancouver Island Pagan Pride Day, which will feature members of the Ordo ¬Templi Orientis, who will be presenting the Gnostic Mass.Although the event will celebrate a decade of Pagan pride on the Island, Vancouver Island Pagan Pride Day is also about eliminating religious prejudice. The event will feature a series of workshops, rituals and demonstrations.

The festivities begin at 11 a.m. at Kin Hut Park on Departure Bay Beach, with the main The main ritual will be presented starting at 2:30 p.m.
