Nanaimo’s Mental Health and Addictions Services Units are benefiting from a new Pacific Blue Cross initiative.
The Community Connection Health Foundation will offer financial assistance to organizations that support mental health and chronic disease.
Funding for the foundation will come from a $6-million endowment.
As part of the launch, Pacific Blue Cross announced a $7,500 donation to the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital units.
Funding requests will be reviewed by a board of directors four times a year. Interested organizations can apply immediately at www.pac.bluecross.ca.
