A Nanimo hairstylist can honestly say his work is a cut above.
Edwin Johnston of Cutting Room Creative was awarded the North American Hairstyling Award Master Stylist of the Year July 22 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
It is Johnston’s first NAHA win.
The awards are the most prestigious photographic beauty competition in North America and celebrate the skill and professional salon artistry of today’s leading stylists across several categories of excellence.
The association is part of PBA Beauty Week, hosted annually by Cosmoprof North America.
The Master Hairstylist of the Year award is the most exclusive award. Finalists must be invited by PBA to compete and must submit a five-image, cohesive collection that shows mastery in styling.
Each entry was judged by an internationally renowned group of hairstylists and makeup artists from the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and Switzerland.
More than 3,000 people attended the ceremony, along with more than 35,000 viewers who tuned in to watch the streaming broadcast.
