Free skating in Nanaimo continues

NANAIMO – Donations contribute to free skating days at Frank Crane Arena.

The Lions Club of Nanaimo will once again be hosting free everyone welcome skate sessions on Sundays, from now through March 26.

This project continues the long tradition of the Lions Club volunteer service to the community of Nanaimo.

During the past three seasons, more than 17,000 Nanaimo residents have taken advantage of this opportunity for free skating with family and friends. Last year alone was a record high of 6,400 visits.

The City of Nanaimo, Lions Club of Nanaimo and Save-On-Foods are sponsoring these family sessions along with other community partners.

Lions Free Skates run from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Sundays in Frank Crane Arena. On Nanaimo Clippers’ game days, the skates will run from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This is the sixth season of continuous support from the Lions Club and Save-On-Foods.
