Flight raffled for SPCA event

NANAIMO - SPCA raffle ticket contest helps raise money for abused, abandoned or neglected animals.

To celebrate WestJet’s expanded service to Nanaimo Airport, and their support of the abused, abandoned and neglected animals, the company will be flying two lucky people to a destination of their choice.

As an added bonus, WestJet will be giving one complimentary entry to everyone who registers as a participant for the 2013 Scotiabank and Nanaimo B.C. SPCA Paws for a Cause, held on Sept. 8, beginning at 10 a.m., at Maffeo Sutton Park.

The goal is to raise $15,000 for the animals in the community.

Raffle tickets are $10 each and will be available all summer long at Nanaimo and District SPCA events, and the Nanaimo branch at 2200 Labieux Rd.

The contest isn’t open to just Nanaimo residents – anyone is welcome to enter regardless of where they live and may fly from any airport that WestJet services.

WestJet’s regional service, Encore, began flying from Nanaimo Airport in Cassidy on June 24.
