Not only is the warm weather a time for families to enjoy the spring sunshine, but also feast on the fruits and vegetables that grow in abundance during the season.
Nanaimo Community Gardens Society is hosting its Family Garden Days Saturday and Sunday (May 26-27), providing an opportunity to learn new gardening skills, purchase fresh vegetables, herb, or flower plants, and enjoy a taste of local cuisine.
The event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at 271 Pine St., and includes plant and worm compost sales, composting, stepping stones and gardening workshops and garden tours. Admission is free.
