Nanaimo’s Urban Barn invites its customers to help blanket the less fortunate in warmth.
Until the end of November, every $5 donation provides an Urban Barn fleece blanket to the Salvation Army’s New Hope Centre.
Providing emergency shelter, transitional housing and a halfway house, New Hope Centre offers 23 emergency shelter beds for adult males.
“It’s immensely rewarding to reach out into the community as a group and help give to those who can use a warm blanket at this time of the year,” said Rhonda Cavelle, assistant manager at Urban Barn’s Nanaimo location at Country Club Centre.
