Construction to improve safety and the flow of traffic at two key intersections on the Nanaimo Parkway has now been completed, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone announced Tuesday.
“The completion of the Nanaimo Parkway dual left-turn project makes good on one of our first intersection improvement priorities announced last year through B.C. on the Move,” Stone said.
The new left-turn lanes at Jinglepot/Mostar and Jinglepot/Third Street are in addition to existing left-turn lanes on Highway 19. These new lanes can accommodate the high volume of traffic that turns southbound off the highway. Lighting at these intersections and Northfield and Fifth Street was also upgraded.
