Coins make a difference for kids in Nanaimo

Coins for Kids donations presented to Great Nanaimo Toy Drive, BGC Canada Central Vancouver Island

All those coins added up.

The Nanaimo News Bulletin’s Coins for Kids charitable campaign recently passed along its annual proceeds to two worthy non-profit organizations.

This year the News Bulletin was able to present a $1,750 cheque to BGC Canada Central Vancouver Island, and another $1,750 cheque to the Great Nanaimo Toy Drive.

Community members donated to Coins for Kids all year long, but especially during December, at all three Quality Foods locations, at John’s Bedrooms, and at the Nanaimo News Bulletin office. Dedicated Coins for Kids volunteers regularly collected the coins, rolled them and deposited them.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the two causes is encouraged to drop cash into Coins for Kids jars at checkouts, or to donate online via an account administered by the Nanaimo Foundation at www.nanaimofoundation.com/nanaimo-news-bulletin-coins-for-kids-fund.
