Not all kids in Nanaimo experience the same kind of Christmas, but it sure would be heart-warming if there were more presents and programming to go around.

With that in mind, the Nanaimo News Bulletin is launching its annual Coins for Kids campaign – formerly Pennies for Presents – to support the Great Nanaimo Toy Drive and BGC Canada Central Vancouver Island, which used to be known as the Boys and Girls Club.

Coins for Kids sponsors Quality Foods and John’s Bedrooms put out their coin jars year-round, but this is the time of year when we at the News Bulletin try to emphasize the campaign and promote the spirit of giving.

Please consider dropping change or bills into the jars at any Quality Foods location in Nanaimo – Harewood, Bowen Road or Northridge – or at John’s Bedrooms on Bowen Road or the Nanaimo News Bulletin office at Terminal Park shopping centre. Another option is to donate online at http://nanaimofoundation.com/nanaimo-news-bulletin-coins-for-kids-fund.
