Cash campaign assists Red Cross

Wal-Mart Canada is collecting donations across the country to support the work of the Red Cross.

Last year, the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Management Program assisted thousands of residents in B.C. and the Yukon affected by disasters such as floods, fires and landslides.

Services provided include lodging, clothing and clean-up kits.

This month, Wal-Mart Canada is collecting donations across the country to support the work of the Red Cross.

Until Aug. 26, customers can make a donation at the checkout. Wal-Mart aims to raise about $350,000 for B.C. and the Yukon and $3.2 million across Canada.

The mission of the Canadian Red Cross is to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity in Canada and around the world.
