Breakfast campaign combats cancer costs

A volunteer group of parents are looking for people around the province willing to host pancake breakfasts.

A volunteer group of parents who have – or have had – a child with cancer, are looking for people around the province willing to host pancake breakfasts in their own homes, offices or elsewhere.

Almost half of the families seeking treatment for their child in the Lower Mainland come from elsewhere in B.C., and transportation and accommodation costs can be a significant challenge.

The B.C. Childhood Cancer Parents’ Association raises money to help these struggling families. The group is aiming for the biggest year yet and wants to get the word out to communities about B.C.’s Biggest Breakfast campaign, in which people or organizations host fundraising breakfasts at any time of the year. Last year’s campaign raised $4,500.
