Bravehearts earn soccer nomination

Local squad in running for national prize.

Time is running out for youth soccer teams across Canada to enter into the BMO Team of the Week program.

The program focuses on youth soccer and the accomplishments of teams both on and off the field.

It is an opportunity for those teams to be recognized for their commitment to the game of soccer, but can also benefit the community as the national prize winner gets $125,000 in soccer field refurbishments.

Nanaimo Youth Soccer Club’s Bravehearts are the latest local team to be nominated as a BMO Team of the Week. The Gabriola Wolves, nominated in April, made it through to the next round and were chosen as a Team of the Week.

The program ends July 1 and nominated teams need community support and votes to win the $125,000 prize.

Please go online to BMOsoccer.com for more information or to vote for a team.
