Boys and girls club receives $5,000

The Boys and Girls Club of Central Vancouver Island’s Chase River club is $5,000 richer thanks to the generosity of the late actor Paul Newman.

In celebration of surpassing the $300-million milestone in charitable giving, Newman’s Own Foundation gave away more than $500,000 in grants to more than 30 Canadian charities.

The Chase River Boys and Girls Club is one of several B.C. organizations to receive grants.

To carry on Newman’s philanthropic legacy, the foundation turns all net profits and royalties from the sale of Newman’s Own products over to charities.
