Bikers ride to remember fallen friends

NANAIMO – Motorcycle safety awareness and remembering lost lives focus of the Motorcycle Memorial Ride.

Motorcycle safety awareness and remembering those who have lost their lives in accidents is the focus of the Motorcycle Memorial Ride.

Hosted by Sands Funeral Chapel, the ride takes place May 5 and includes a ride from Sands on Newcastle Avenue to Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens and the dedication of a bench by B.C. Lt.-Gov. Judith Guichon.

It’s a free, family-friendly event designed to bring awareness to motorcyclists on the roads in B.C.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. with the ride starting at 11:30 a.m.

Following the 1 p.m. ceremony and speeches, a charity barbecue will be held with all proceeds going to the Kids Help Phone.
