To the Editor,
Angels and Demons Dragon Boat Club of Nanaimo, along with Bowen Road Country Grocer would like to thank the community for its support in helping to Fill the Boat, the team’s third annual food and clothing drive to help local charities, such as Loaves and Fishes Community Food Bank, The Clothesline, Nanaimo Men’s Resource Centre and women’s shelter to fill the team’s 12-metre dragon boat. This year the team raised 625.5 kilograms of non-perishable food items, plus another $1,100 in cash to help those in need, our team’s way of giving back.
This was our most successful food drive and we are looking forward to next year to better this amount. A special thank you to Greg and SuCh for their time to organize the team and the details with Country Grocer.
We’d like to thank, Tory, Karen and the staff of Country Grocer for helping out.
