Volunteer Nanaimo is hoping that angels in the community will help make Christmas a more joyous occasion.
The organization is holding its Christmas Angels campaign again this holiday season, asking for money, gifts, food and clothing to pass along to families and individuals under financial strain.
Volunteer Nanaimo is asking people to give what they can; it isn’t necessary to ‘adopt’ a whole family, for example.
Real Estate Webmasters is sponsoring 100 people this year.
“There are so many more of us in Nanaimo who will have a great Christmas and wake up and have dinner and have presents and have smiles, and that’s not the same for everybody,” said Morgan Carey, president and CEO of Real Estate Webmasters.
He said his business is putting out a call to action to support the Christmas Angels program.
“To challenge other community members and challenge other business owners to step up, visit the Volunteer Nanaimo website, look up Christmas Angels and if you can donate $10, $100, $1,000, whatever you can do, or if you can donate some of your time, we’d love to encourage you to help join us sponsoring Christmas Angels this year in Nanaimo.”
