More than 100 women who care can’t all gather together in person in COVID-19 times, but they can still pool their resources to help worthy causes in the community.
100-plus Women Who Care Mid-Island recently presented $11,000 to the Nanaimo Community Hospice Society.
“We are so honoured to have been chosen to receive funds from this amazing group of women, who make such a difference to not-for-profit organizations in our community,” said Cathy Dyck, the society’s development officer, in an e-mail.
100-plus Women Who Care Mid-Island meet four times a year to discuss non-profit organizations in need, then decide collectively on one non-profit to support that season. The group gathered virtually in late September and the women decided they wished to support hospice.
