The VIU Deep Bay Marine Field Station in Vancouver Island is playing a transformational role in the ‘green revolution’ of modern aquaculture.

The project is targeting LEED Platinum certification and features simple water conserving strategies, high-efficiency lighting and heat exchangers.

The VIU Deep Bay Marine Field Station is among the seven sustainable and energy-efficient buildings in B.C., Alberta, Quebec, and Ontario that have been awarded the 2011 National Green Buildings Awards offered through sister magazines Sustainable Architecture & Building and Sustainable Architecture & Building Homes.
