Terasen Gas customers will notice a new name on their bill starting March 1. The new name is FortisBC.“Terasen Gas has been a part of the Fortis family since 2007,” said John Walker, president of Terasen and FortisBC, in a press release. “The Fortis companies in B.C. are known today by several names ... However, going forward our customers will know all these companies under the shared name FortisBC.”Although Terasen Gas is changing its name, there is no change to the legal status of the companies comprising Terasen Gas and FortisBC. Each will remain separate legal entities, with the common business name, a new common logo and a common brand identity to represent the companies. The ownership structures of Terasen Gas and FortisBC will remain the same.
