Bulletin earns nominations

NANAIMO – Staffers among those nominated for community newspaper awards.

Outstanding work by Nanaimo News Bulletin employees has not gone unnoticed by the British Columbia Yukon Community Newspapers Association.

The News Bulletin earned four nominations in the BCYCNA Ma Murray Community Newspaper Awards.

Rachel Stern’s Hornet happenings is among the top three finalists in the Sports Photo Award for a paper with more than 25,000 circulation, and Chris Bush is up for the Telus Spot News Photo Award in the same circulation category with his Hot spot photo.

Donna Blais, News Bulletin classifieds manager, is a finalist for the New Car Dealers Association of B.C. Classifieds Award, and ad representative Chantal Richard is up for the Metro Creative Graphics Ad Campaign Award collaborative for her Summer Savin’ Days ad.

Winners will be announced at the Ma Murray Awards gala April 20 at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond.
