Beefs and bouquets

Bouquet. Thank you to all health workers for their dedication to our community. Thank you to the doctors and nurses who put their health on the line for us. Without them, I don’t know where we would be.

Beef to the fellow at the store’s lunch area, continually coughing without putting his hand over his mouth. I guess some people just don’t care about the others trying to enjoy lunch. These are trying times.

Beef to the woman at the supermarket for opening multiple bags of grapes and sampling out of each bag. Not only were you eating unwashed fruit, but you were also stealing. Maybe you should have shopped elsewhere if you wanted free samples.

Beef to the person who stole RAM out of my mom’s computer when we took it in for servicing. I put two additional cards in for her when I gave her the computer a year ago, and they were missing when we got the computer back.

Beef to the lazy, irresponsible children who feel they are owed a living because they didn’t ask to be born. Who was? So, you expect to freeload off your parents and society forever?

Beef to the strata council that is dysfunctional and corrupt. A shame that one person has the power to influence an entire group. You should collect the other side of the story before you judge. Damage is done with the spreading of vicious stories all over an entire neighbourhood.

Beef to the corner store that would not sell a package of cigarettes to a 55-year-old man who just got off work and didn’t have his ID with him. Has the world gone crazy?

Beef to those who bring their dogs into Buttertubs Marsh. There are ‘no dogs’ signs at every entrance. Maybe you were spoiled as children, so now you have no respect for others, be it birds or other people. Please stop promoting the current entitlement trend; it’s very unattractive.

Beef to the man driving the silver Fiesta on the Parkway. Good luck with your audition for the Fast and Furious: Island Life movie. With your driving skills, you’re a lock.

Beef to the builder of the two homes beside us in south Nanaimo. The guy does not keep his promises, buries huge blast rock in driveways and covers them over, takes from others without payback, cuts corners on his home building and lets his dog run around the neighbourhood free to mess on people’s property with no cares of cleaning it up.

Beef to our once-favourite Chinese food restaurant that would not deliver our order to us because we were six cents under the minimum order for delivery. Lost our business.

Beef to the person who stole my wagon in the wee hours of the morning. I live on a small pension and had to save my money to get it to haul away trash and transport my laundry. May karma bite you real good.

Why did you take my hand-painted memorial rock from its final resting place in Planta Park? I never had children and this dog Tazer was my baby. You broke my heart. Please return it to the spot beside his ashes.

Beef to the person who presumably found my glasses under or near my seat at the theatre and did not take them to lost and found. How mean of you. I am a pensioner and these quite new glasses cost me $200.

Beef to the marketers who use the word ‘fight.’ Politicians will ‘fight’ for you, charity will ‘fight’ cancer, agencies will ‘fight’ the war on drugs. All while bullying and fighting is looked down upon in society.

Beef to some of the ‘Downton Yappy’ seniors: please stop talking in movie theatres while the film is on, other people in the theatre paid to see a film, not to hear your play-by-play or the desperate need for your friend’s constant attention. And please have the foresight to transfer your candy to a Ziploc bag if you are going to open and close the crinkly bag every 30 seconds.
