Beefs and bouquets

Beef to the business at the mall that told me I had to provide personal information for COVID tracing. After assuring me I would not receive marketing e-mails, they proceeded to send me e-mails promoting their business.

Beef to Halloween, a celebration of death, weapons, blood and murder. Halloween is a mockery of death and our beloved deceased. Why do we celebrate it?

Why were passengers without masks allowed on the ferry in the first place? If B.C. Ferries had enforced its own rules the altercations and delays could have been avoided.

Bouquet of the Week: I live in the blue ‘95 Chevy Astro van with the bike on the back. I’m not a thief or a criminal. I have inabilities to function with people and I can’t find a place to rent. People are harassing me because they think I robbed them. I just want to tell the good people of Nanaimo that I didn’t rob you.

Beef to the rude lady at the gas station who was shouting and cussing at the senior to hurry up and move his car. He hadn’t even got his fuel yet and there were other pumps available.

Beef to the lady who backed into my car at the gas station at Rutherford Road. Thanks for damaging one of the nice things I have worked hard for while you went on your way enjoying your day.

Bouquet to the person who sent the beef about the rude couple at the fast food restaurant. I want to say a huge thank you for standing up for that poor person who had to endure their bullying. That couple would be my father and his girlfriend. It’s about time someone told them off.

Beef of the Week: To the lady who plays the same song by Collective Soul loudly every morning. My brother and me are trying to sleep.

Beef to the lady who sprayed my neighbours’ kids with a jet from her garden hose through the hedge for playing in their own backyard in the daytime. What kind of person does this?

Beef. I am the guy who pumps out the pit toilet at Neck Point. Yes, I agree it is not the cleanest or the nicest smelling, none of them are. I do my best. But when people throw down diapers, garbage, pop cans, bottles, wipes, sticks, rocks, cellphones and condoms, most of these items get stuck on or in the end of my hose. I have to remove these with my hands, now that is disgusting.

Beef to the woman in the coffee shop. The employee inadvertently touched the rim of your cup and you went nuts on her. While she was remaking your tea, you continued to scream at her and made that very young girl cry. Hope you are happy and proud.

Beef to the woman who called the police and told them I was selling drugs at the parking lot. She said she saw me with a bag of drugs. The bag contained two rainbow trout. I fish to relax, now I worry.

Beef to the sandwich shop, no pepper? And a grocery store 50 metres away; c’mon, that is just lazy.

Beef to the grocer for selling food products past their expiry date. I did not have my reading glasses at the store. When I returned home all three products I purchased had expired, one of them by one year.

Beef to those accessing the river via our neighbourhood. Any given sunny afternoon will have dozens of vehicles poorly parked on both sides of our residential road with people leaving garbage on our boulevards, on the river bank, and in our yards.

How safe is the ferry? With another spike in COVID-19 cases on the mainland, you would think it would be mandatory to wear masks but I did a count and only 5-10 per cent of people were wearing them once they got on the ferry.

Beef to the couple who walk their labs around the Dufferin area. Daily you let your two dogs poop in the beautiful green space. Can’t you see all the young people hanging out and the families with young children playing? All of us in the apartments see you and we are not very impressed. At least pick it up.

Beef to offices that use a small envelope as a label for a large envelope, why are you wasting two envelopes? Especially when you are delivering mail by hand.
