Whitecaps academy starts up again on Island

The Caps will run a pre-prospects academy for players in U8-U12, as well as an invite-only prospects program for players in U12-U17.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s soccer academy program is hitting the pitch for another season on the Island.

The club announced Craig Angus as the Island academy’s coach. Nanoose Bay’s Arbutus Meadows Equestrian Centre will be the official indoor training centre for the academy.

“We look forward to working with all clubs, associations and players on the Island as we continue to move in a direction that supports everyone in the region,” said Dan Lenarduzzi, Whitecaps director of soccer development, in a press release.

The Caps will run a pre-prospects academy for players in U8-U12, as well as an invite-only prospects program for players in U12-U17. Boys’ tryouts are Sept. 30 and girls’ tryouts are Oct. 2. For more information, visit www.whitecapsfc.com/academy.
