VIU volleyball wins in straight sets

NANAIMO – Vancouver Island University’s women’s volleyball team came up aces on the weekend.

The Mariners served tough against the College of the Rockies Avalanche and swept up the competition Saturday and Sunday at the VIU gym, winning in straight sets both days. The M’s men lost both their matches against the Avs in five sets, falling 19-17 in the fifth set on Saturday and 15-13 in the decisive set Sunday.

VIU’s volleyball teams visit the Capilano Blues this Friday (Oct. 25) and Saturday.
