Vancouver Island University’s athletics department is holding a fundraiser golf tournament Tuesday (Sept. 17) at the Nanaimo Golf Club.

All proceeds from the event go to athletic programs at VIU. Mariners players will caddy for the participants.

“Support is important as it gives both the students and VIU the much-needed financial resources to draw quality students to the university and into our community,” said Rob Grey, board member with the VIU Foundation.

The 18-hole scramble tourney starts with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start and will be followed by dinner at the clubhouse. Cost to play is $200.
