Visiting team wins v-ball tourney

NANAIMO – Ten teams participated in the Cedar Spartans Classic tournament at Cedar Community Secondary School this past weekend.

The Cedar Spartans earned a top-three finish at their own tournament this past weekend. The senior girls' volleyball team co-hosted the Cedar Spartans Classic with John Barsby Community Secondary School.

Little Flower Academy won the tourney, defeating the Ballenas Whalers in Saturday's final, 25-18, 25-23. Cedar came third, beating Sentinel 25-18, 21-25, 15-11.

Ten teams participated in the tournament. Other local entries were the Dover Bay Dolphins and Barsby Blazers.

Cedar and Barsby will co-host the senior AA girls' provincial championships Nov. 29-Dec. 1.
