The Nanaimo Clippers have subtracted some veteran leadership from the defence corps. Nick Bell is not in camp this month because the Clips are attempting to trade the 20-year-old.

“We offered him an opportunity to be traded to a different club and he’s contemplating that decision,” said Mike Vandekamp, Clippers general manager, on Thursday.

The trade is contingent on the player agreeing to report to his new team.

Bell, a six-foot, 205 pounder from Nanoose Bay, was an alternate captain with the Clippers last season.
