V.I. Raiders focused on Rebels

Nanaimo’s CJFL squad faces its next challenge this Saturday (Sept. 21) when it takes on the Westshore Rebels in Victoria.

The V.I. Raiders will need to keep winning to maintain their first-place standing.

Nanaimo’s Canadian Junior Football League squad faces its next challenge this Saturday (Sept. 21) when it takes on the Westshore Rebels in Victoria.

Last week’s 41-27 victory over the Langley Rams was a big one, but the Raiders said afterward they needed to keep pushing forward.

“Every game is a different game and every team is a different team. Anything can happen; it’s football,” said Andrew Deleon, Raiders running back. “We know we’re not the best but we also know we’re not the worst and we’re ready for whatever comes our way.”

GAME ON … The Raiders (5-2) and Rebels (1-6) kick off Saturday at 7 p.m. at Bear Mountain Stadium in Langford. Tickets will be available at the gate.
