It was only auditions, and still, the V.I. Raider Girls looked ready for the opening kickoff of the season.
The V.I. Raiders junior football club’s dance team put together its roster Sunday at auditions at the Beban Park Social Centre.
Matthew (Snoop) Blokker, coach of the V.I. Raiders, said he congratulates this year’s Raider Girls and expects them to meet the high standards the dance team has established over the years.
“The Raider Girls, since we’ve started, they’ve been a huge thing for our program and we believe that. I think it’s a big part of our fans’ enjoyment and it’s part of football…" Blokker said. “You compare them to the other dance teams in the other programs just like you compare your football team, and they have the same attitude as us, and that’s win. And we feel we have the best dance team in the league.”
