United putting teams together

Nanaimo United is busily building its men’s and women’s soccer teams for the upcoming season.

Nanaimo United is busily building its men’s and women’s teams for the upcoming season. The competitive soccer club is holding tryouts this month.

United is expecting to field sides in Div. 1, Div. 2, Div. 3 and U21 in the Vancouver Island Soccer League and in the premiership, Div. 1 and Div. 3 in the Lower Island Women’s Soccer Association.

Men’s tryouts go Tuesday (Aug. 7) at 8:30 p.m. at Merle Logan Field and Thursday at 7 p.m. at Caledonia Park. Tryouts continue Aug. 14 at 8:30 p.m. at Merle Logan and Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. at Caledonia.
