Nanaimo United will turn on the lights on a new season. The soccer club hosts its first regular-season doubleheader of the 2011-12 campaign Saturday (Sept. 10) under the lights at the new artificial turf surface at Merle Logan Field.

The soccer club hosts its first regular-season doubleheader of the 2011-12 campaign Saturday (Sept. 10) under the lights at the new artificial turf surface at Merle Logan Field.

United’s Div. 2 men will headline the first weekend of the Vancouver Island Soccer League season as they face Gordon Head at 7 p.m. The first half of the doubleheader sees United’s Lower Island Women’s Soccer Association Div. 1 side face Vic West at 5 p.m.

United’s Div. 1 men won’t get their VISL schedule underway until Sept. 17, when they face Juan de Fuca in Victoria. The home opener for United’s Div. 1 men will be Sept. 24 when Vic West visits Merle Logan Field for a 7 p.m. game.
