The Nanaimo Track and Field Club had a contingent at the George Dean Memorial meet in Sidney on April 20-21.

The Nanaimo Track and Field Club was ready for the start of the season. The club had a contingent at the George Dean Memorial meet in Sidney on April 20-21.

First-place results include:

Nine-year-old boys - Jayden Watson, first, 60-metre dash, first, 100m, first, 600m, first, 1,000m, first, 60m hurdles, first, high jump, first, long jump, first, shot put, first, 800m race walk.

11-year-old girls - Makayla Mitchell, first, long jump, first, javelin, first, shot put, first, 800m race walk; Karly Dickenson, first, 1,000m.

11-year-old boys - Keaton Heisterman, first, 800m race walk, 600m, first, 1,000m, first, shot put, first, discus; Ethan Katzberg, first, 60m hurdles, first, high jump, first, javelin; Kintan Rasaiah, first, 100m, first, long jump.

12-year-old girls - Courtney Anderton, first, 100m, first, 200m, first, 300m; Kaitlyn Watson, first, 1,200m, first, long jump.

12-year-old boys - Colby Day, first, javelin; Jett Ferraro, first, 300m, first, discus; Devin Tozer, first, shot put, first, hammer.

13-year-old girls - Marina Andersen, first, 1,500m race walk.

15-year-old girls - Hayley Dickenson, first, 2,000m.

15-year-old boys - Jason Clare, first, long jump.
