Jackie Little played like a hall of famer and won the Mid Island Amateur women's golf tournament.
Little, a member of the B.C. Golf Hall of Fame, shot even par to comfortably win the two-day tourney at the Nanaimo Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
"I've been struggling and I've been working hard on my game this last week and so it was nice to be rewarded," said Little, who is from Port Alberni.
Nanaimo's Shirin Anjarwalla, just 14 years old, placed second at eight over par and Alberni's Christina Proteau and Nanaimo's Kim Evans were also in the final grouping.
Little set herself up for success with a first-round 71. She said the very first hole Saturday she started with a couple of well-positioned shots and then made her up and down for par.
"That sort of settles your nerves a little bit and then you move on," she said.
Little has participated in the tournament before, and said the "awesome" course is always a draw.
"The shape it's in is phenomenal. It really is a pleasure to play," she said. "It is a very difficult course so I'm ecstatic about how I played this week."
Langley’s Debbie Bremner won the low net competition with an adjusted four-under par, Victoria’s Paula Green was second at two under and Nanaimo’s Sandra Miles placed third at one under.
Nanaimo’s Donita Houghton won the long-drive contest.
