A Thanksgiving weekend basketball camp will really get into the spirit of the holiday.
Avneet Brar of Brar Basketball, an assistant coach of the Vancouver Island University Mariners, is hosting a Thanksgiving Give Back camp Saturday (Oct. 8) in north Nanaimo.
All proceeds from the camp will go toward helping kids in the future who might wish to attend basketball camp but need help with the fees.
“I truly believe in supporting all athletes and finding a way to keep them included in sport,” said Brar, in a press release.
The camp, for boys or girls ages 12-18, will feature rim attack, ball handling, and scoring from passing and cutting situations.
It will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Oliver Woods Community Centre. Cost to participate is $20. To register, please visit www.brarbasketball.com.
