The Canada Winter Games wrapped up earlier this week, and one local athlete earned a medal.
Gymnast Kerensa Mitchell, who is from Nanaimo but trains on the mainland, helped Team B.C. to a silver in team competition Feb. 13. Two other local girls participated in the Games. Nanoose Bay target shooter Francisca Bradley finished fourth in team competition Feb. 14 and fifth in individual competition two days later. Synchronized swimmer Meghan Dougan and her Team B.C. finished fourth at the finals Feb. 25.
