The Nanaimo Clippers bolstered their ranks on the eve of the B.C. Hockey League regular season.

The team acquired forward Chris Allbee this week, a 19-year-old who played last season with the Quesnel Millionaires.

"He'll give us a little bit more stability up the middle which we felt we needed," said Mike Vandekamp, Clippers general manager. "He's a checker, he's a defensive-minded player, he's a good penalty killer, he's intelligent."

The six-foot, 170 pounder from Prince George scored five goals and 10 points and tallied 52 penalty minutes over 44 games last season. He formerly captained the Cariboo Cougars B.C. Major Midget League team.
