The Nanaimo Clippers got their man in defence recruit Ryan Wells.

The B.C. Hockey League club had been targeting the 18-year-old defenceman, and announced his commitment earlier this week.

"He's a good kid, strong character, he's big and strong, mobile, physical," said Mike Vandekamp, Clippers coach and general manager. "We're real happy to have him joining our team."

The six-foot, 190 pounder from London, Ont. tallied four goals, 10 points and 68 penalty minutes in 28 games with the junior A Guelph Hurricanes last season.
