He was already a grand master, and now he’s a level higher.
Grand master Young Kim of World Taekwondo Academy in Nanaimo was honoured with a promotion recently in Korea.
Kim was invited to the Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Headquarters in Seoul for a seminar as one of 170 high-degree masters from more than 100 different countries.
The masters were graded according to experience, training and rank, and Kim was the only Canadian to receive a first-class black belt promotion examiner certification. Kim will now have the formal authority to oversee high-degree black belt testing for students across B.C.
