The Nanaimo Timbermen acquired one of the league’s top scorers in a major trade over the weekend.

The city’s senior A Western Lacrosse Association club acquired Brett Hickey from the Coquitlam Adanacs. Nanaimo traded the first overall draft pick in 2015, plus prospect Kody TeKanawa, in return for Hickey and Coquitlam’s second and ninth picks in 2015, a third-round pick in 2016 and a first-round pick in 2017.

Hickey, a right hander, was fourth in WLA scoring last season with 62 points in 18 games.
