Goals were hard to come by for both teams, but especially for the Nanaimo Timbermen.
The Coastal Windows Timbermen (1-2) lost 7-5 on Wednesday night on the mainland to the defending champions of the Western Lacrosse Association, the Langley Thunder.
The T-men managed just one goal in each of the first and second periods, but made things interesting with three unanswered goals in the third period.
Blake Kenny scored twice for Nanaimo and Ryan Keith, Myles Kenny and Mike Berekoff were the other scorers. Zak Boychuk made 43 saves as his team was outshot 51-40.
GAME ON … The T-men visit the Coquitlam Adanacs on Saturday (June 1), then host the Victoria Shamrocks on Wednesday (June 5) at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena.
