T-men lose, fall out of contention

The Nanaimo Coastal Windows Timbermen lost 9-8 to the Coquitlam Adanacs on Saturday on the mainland.

The Nanaimo Timbermen are out of the playoff picture, but not for lack of trying.

The Coastal Windows Timbermen lost 9-8 to the Coquitlam Adanacs on Saturday on the mainland.

The result dropped the T-men from playoff contention in the Western Lacrosse Association because the following night, the two teams ahead of them in the standings were scheduled to play one another, and a point by either one of those teams would eliminate Nanaimo.

The T-men battled Saturday, holding an 8-7 lead midway through the third period before the Adanacs scored two late power-play goals.

Jimmy Delaney led the Timbermen with three goals and four assists. Jake Emms scored a pair and Cody Bremner, Doug Langlois and Graham Palmer were the other scorers.

GAME ON … The T-men visit the Victoria Shamrocks on Friday (July 26), then host the Maple Ridge Burrards on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena.
